Phil has just added some lovely photos of self taken by Clive Hannay. I modeled for him a couple of weeks ago in Duncliffe woods, he has a beautiful column in the "Dorset Life " magazine. He does the gorgeous drawings and watercolours of local beautyspots and walks.
I've had "The Bee Robber" accepted for the Bath & West show and it will be in the arts tent from 27-30 May. I feel I need to explain the painting. If you've seen it in my gallery you know it shows a bee hive, there is a moth on the front and it is her presence I want to explain. I was kindly given an ex-Deathshead hawk moth by a mother at my daughters school. I wanted to paint her in her natural habitat and discovered she takes honey from the bees, apparently she emits a high pitched sound that subdues the bees who then allow her to take honey. She is known as the bee robber.
I will also be exhibiting three paintings with "First View" gallery at Stourhead Sat June 13th - Sun 21st June 11am-5pm. There I have "The Dream" "Night Flight" and "The Chase". The first is in my gallery and the other two will be soon.
Modeling work is still busy but as always, easing as we drift towards summer.
Welcome!
I thought this blog would be a good idea to let everyone know what I'm up to on the painting and modeling front. I'm also hoping this may help me keep track of my thoughts, see what comes to fruition and what slips down the back of the easel!
