Welcome!

I thought this blog would be a good idea to let everyone know what I'm up to on the painting and modeling front. I'm also hoping this may help me keep track of my thoughts, see what comes to fruition and what slips down the back of the easel!

Wow, two posts in a month, getting better at this am I not!
Well it's the last day of term so I shall have my girls home for the next six weeks. This doesn't stop me painting though, my girls are very good (mostly) at entertaining them selves. I like having them home, no rush in the morning or lunch boxes to make. I'm hoping for six weeks of famous five style adventures complete with lashings of ginger beer!

Yesterday I had a wonderful time. My dear friend and honoree father taught me to throw a pot. Not literally toss it of course, that would be silly. No, on a wheel I'm sure you understand. I have had a desire to learn this for a long time and now my friend has his kiln fired up once more, he invited me over.
I made plates, cups and a bowl and can't wait to use the finished articles. What could be better than eating homegrown food from home-made dishes...
This leads me on to my allotment which is in full bloom. I have been pulling potatoes, we have courgettes and lettuces a plenty! I was given a recipe for lettuce soup, strange it sounds but it's lovely, fresh and fragrant. Very useful for using up a glut of lettuces and can be frozen too.

Saturday is the day of the Marnhul festival so the girls and I are getting our entries ready. Mine will not be from the allotment, though I look forward to seeing what my fellow allotment holders will be entering. Mine will be of the arts and crafts variety.

I'm still working on the painting of my girls, very much a work in progress but here it is if you'd like to see it.

Well that's about it for now.
